about
Mosberg Give Back Sacks was inspired by a legal case Kimberly Mosberg worked on several years ago involving a young black boy who was tortiously harassed by Chicago police over several years. When the legal team was able to secure a large settlement for this wonderful boy, his first reaction was to take $1000 and buy winter gear for Chicago's homeless community. Mosberg pledged to do the same with her attorney's fees earned. So Mosberg put $1000 worth of hats, coats, gloves, and scarves in her car and traveled around Chicago looking for people in need. It was exhilarating. Next, Mosberg saw a TV special about honoring Robin Williams which spoke at length about his dedication to the homeless. Many of his friends were honoring him by providing food and toiletries to homeless individuals in their cities. Mosberg decided to do the same. Hence the birth of Mosberg Give Back Sacks. MGBS provides support to the homeless community in Chicago. Members reach out to the homeless community to see what they need and prepare sacks containing toiletries, food, seasonal items, access to resources, etc. MGBS also donates give back sacks to volunteers, friends, and neighbors. MGBS mission is to expand support throughout Chicago for homeless individuals in need and to have give back sacks available to every commuter who wants to lend a hand to those less fortunate.
